I will try to upload pictures first of the J Paul Getty Villa and Museum in Malibu, California. Then, below J. Paul Getty's "bust" will show some selected pictures of his Center which is located north on the 405 in LA area. Both places are worth visiting, especially the Center which is only about 10 yrs. old and a beautiful display of architecture, gardens, and paintings, furniture, and sculpture in the pavilions at the Center!
The bust you see at the end of the pictures is of Hercules who was said by our guide to be the God that the people of Herculaneum worshipped(a city buried in the lava from Mt. Vesuvius' eruption in nearby Pompeii.) The people in Roman times worshipped many Gods, and Hercules was chosen by the people of Herculaneum to worship. The J Paul Getty Villa is supposed to be a replica of the buried city of Herculaneum.

It looks like I am at the end of the allowable space, so will post pictures of the J Paul Getty Center in another post.
If you get to LA area, these places are a must to visit!! Of course, Disney Land at Anaheim is a close second! LOL
